On July 27th, at approximately 11:41 a.m., a motorcycle traveling on State Highway 3 failed to navigate a curve, and collided with another vehicle.
At the time of the accident, the driver of the motorcycle, a 30-year-old man from Spokane, was traveling southbound on US 3. He was traveling on a black 2025 Kawaski ZX400. As he approached mile post 92, he failed to negotiate a curve and crossed into the oncoming northbound lane. He collided head on with the second vehicle, a 2016 Toyota Rav 4, driven by a 20-year-old man from Missoula.
The driver of the motorcycle sustained critical injuries. Emergency personnel performed life saving procedures before he was taken to a hospital in Kootenai via life flight. Later, he succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. No report is given on the condition of the driver of the Toyota.
