On July 3rd, 2025, two vehicles collided just north of Jerome, Idaho. The accident took place at 10:00 p.m. on U.S. Highway 93, at milepost 63. The incident involved two vehicles, a 2005 Ford Explorer, and a 2012 Dodge Journey.

At the time of the accident, the driver of the Dodge, a 20-year-old female and her 41-year-old passenger and minor passenger, all from Peru, were headed northbound. As they traveled, the second vehicle, the Ford, driven by a 27-year-old man from Jerome, began to veer into the northbound lane. The vehicles collided head on at milepost 63.

The driver and minor passenger of the Dodge were transported to a nearby hospital via air ambulance. The other passenger of the Dodge sustained critical injuries and passed away before she could receive medical treatment. The driver of the Ford was also injured and was transported to a local hospital via ground ambulance. All four individuals involved in this accident wore seatbelts at the time of the collision.
