On May 24, 2025, a two-vehicle collision occurred on eastbound US 26 near Irwin, at approximately 2:38 p.m. The crash took place at milepost 386 in Bonneville County.

The accident involved four individuals. One vehicle was driven by a 46-year-old man from Farmington, Utah. The other vehicle was driven by a 44-year-old man, with a 52-year-old female passenger, and a juvenile passenger, all from Idaho Falls.

The first man, traveling in a black 2020 GMC Yukon, was traveling westbound. He began to veer over the center line, and collided head on with the second vehicle, a semi-truck. The driver of the Yukon was wearing a seatbelt and was taken to a local hospital by air ambulance. The three individuals in the semi only sustained minor injuries, and all three wore seatbelts.
